Rain No Match for the Spectacular, Sold-Out Up On the Roof 2018

On Saturday, June 2, the West Chester Downtown Foundation was proud to welcome hundreds of guests to the most unique venue in town for another outstanding and sold-out Up on the Roof fundraiser event.

This elegant night of food, drink, music and mingling held on the rooftop of West Chester's Chestnut Street Parking Garage supports the annual cleaning, flower beautification and marketing of Downtown West Chester. Since 2002, guests, sponsors and volunteers have raised over $257,000 toward this project. The West Chester Downtown Foundation also continues to support other downtown projects, including seasonal holiday carolers and the Historic Preservation Awards.

While a rainy weather forecast forced the event down one level, safely under the top roof of the parking garage, that didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits.

"We might have had to call this year's event 'Up Under the Roof,'" said Matthew Holliday, Chester County Prothonotary and Chair of the West Chester Downtown Foundation Board of Directors, "but was just as full of energy and pride in our town as ever. The committee that puts together this event knocked it out of the park, and the guests and sponsors have once again shown us just how much they love this town and want to preserve and celebrate it."

The event was made possible by Rooftop Sponsor Residential Mortgage Services – the Rose Stancato Team, along with Pinnacle Sponsors Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, MacElree Harvey, and A. Roy Smith, and dozens of generous business sponsors.

Festivities and food and drink were provided by Jon Serock Catering, Limoncello Ristorante & Caterers, and many more vendors, with music by The Donny Syracuse Band. A long list of in-kind sponsors providing everything from photography to desserts can be found on the Up on the Roof event page.

Up on the Roof is a joint fundraising effort between the West Chester Downtown Foundation and the West Chester BID, promoting the beautification of downtown West Chester. The West Chester Business Improvement District (BID) is an economic development resource agency, providing downtown management and revitalization services for West Chester.

Thank you to all who made the 2018 event so spectacular! Stay tuned for details about next year's event, held always on the first Saturday of June.
